Arkaba Station, located in the Flinders Ranges of South Australia, a four hour drive from north of Adelaide, is the perfect place for your next holiday or retreat. Arkaba Station is a heritage-listed property dating from 1851 with over 7000 odd sheep grazing its 100 square miles. In 1856 a magnificent stone wool shed was built with 40 stands, it is one of the biggest in Australia. Arkaba Station offers different types of accommodation facilities like hosted accommodation, coach house, and cottage and bush camping. The rooms have reverse cycle air conditioning, ceiling fans, television, CD and DVD player. There is a private verandah area outside the rooms with a table and chairs setting. The atmosphere is special; it is a whole feeling of peace and beauty; a quality rarely found in our busy world. Visitors to the property in September are invited to the historic woolshed to watch the sheep shearers’ quick hands at work. Arkaba Station is a haven for geologists, bird watchers, photographers and painters as well as those just wanting to absorb the South Australian outback beauty.
